Book #3 -- Ron King, The Quantum July, 244 pages.
This one was very interesting . . . after all, how many YA novels about quantum physics do you know of? It actually does a good job of explaining the basics of quantum theory, Schroedinger's Cat, and superposition, which is the basis of the book. Thirteen-year-old Danny Parsons has always felt like he didn't belong in his family. Surely he wasn't intended for this boring life. Then comes the Quantum July, and Danny finds himself in the metaphorical box with the cat -- experiencing two differently lives simultaneously, the one he's used to, and a much more exciting possibility that could have been his life if only his father had made a slightly different choice 12 years ago. But is his this new life worth giving up the old one? At some point, Danny's going to have to open the box and find out.
