The best thing about inductance is its SI unit: the "henry," after Joseph Henry. I'm not at all sure how to pluralize henry when writing it out. If it were a proper name, then it would be "Henrys," but the SI unit is not a proper name. Fortunately, we can weasel our way out by using the symbol H for the unit.

Ah-according to Wikipedia (quoting the NIST), the plural of henry is henries.

Interesting. Not my area of science, so I don't know much about it, but I've always found SI units, as well as collective nouns, particularly fascinating :)
