Book #74 -- Sarah A. Hoyt, Ill Met By Moonlight, 298 pages.
The old tales tell that he who meets with Faerie and returns comes back mad, or a poet. Sarah Hoyt thinks this might explain how a glover's son from Stratford became arguably the best poet in the English language. Not to mention shedding some light on A Midsummer Night's Dream. Will Shakespeare, petty school-master, returns home one evening to find his new wife and infant daughter vanished. His search for them leads him to a world beyond his imaginings, the world of Elfland, where a treacherous king has stolen the throne from the rightful heir, and only a mortal hand can put things right.
This is a wonderful book, full of allusions both to British folklore and the Bard's oeuvre.
