Assault Tier 7 Sergeant Major

-Azure Experiments Leujaoam Sanctum

Your goal in this mission is to defeat 4 sets of Lamia, ranger, blackmage, and corsair types. The twist is that an npc will give you random monster "grafts" that give you certain buffs and debuffs. For instance Raptor Grafts will give you permanent Flee but your HP is cut in half.

Here is an example:

The sets of lamia can spawn at any of the four spawn points shown on the map. They are not partied so its possible to pull one at a time if you have the opportunity to not link. They seem to be susceptible to all forms of enfeebling magic (silence stuck i think but i'm not certain) and arent harder than normal lamia. Once a set of enemies is dead, talk to Nareema again to get a new graft, keep speaking to her until you get the message that "enemies are nearby". It seems like you can continue to speak to her for new grafts if you dont want to use the one you were given, but she will only redo grafts a limited number of times until you've killed the next set of enemies. Take care of the one way ledges located at the northeast and southeast tunnels, if you fall down one pulling the lamia you will have to run all the way around to the south and back up. Rune of Release appears where you start. Finish all 4 sets of lamia to win.

The wiki gives a very concise runthrough of this and there's little for me to add except that it is very obnoxious. I dont recall a lot of how this went because I did it some time ago and if I do it again sometime I'll update with any helfpful info.

-Blitzkrieg Mamool Ja Training Grounds

Blitzkrieg is unlike any other assault mission so far. From start to finish your facing wave after wave of enemies that attacks you all at once. If you have done the Ashu Talif bcnm first quest, it's similar to that. The enemies all have very low HP and are relatively weak, typically they wont break stoneskin+phalanx for several attacks. To begin with you have a small amount of time to buff and prepare before the mob will automatically begin to advance directly to you. You will see a zone message along the lines of "the first wave of enemies has begun to advance". The enemies will litterally climb up ledges to get to you, so feel free to simply stand near the first ledge, or wherever you like. Mob enemies include Puks, Ziz, Mamool Ja's of melee and mage type, and Bugards. The zone message will keep you up to date on how many mobs you have defeated "You have defeated 20 monsters" etc. Any type of AOE is an obvious perk here as it can deal anywhere from 100-300 or more damage to all mobs nearby. Black mage nukes can decimate large groups of mobs with even tier2 aga spells. Have blm or /blm or bard sleepga the surrounding group in rotation after each nuke or AoE WS to keep them managed. If the mobs become too spread out or hang back you may want to ascribe someone to pulling them all togethor to AoE all at once. The behavior of the mass of mobs is hard to describe, they all essentially swarm to your general area at once, but only a part of that group will start to attack you while the rest kind of hangs out weirdly waiting in the wings. Eventually every so many mobs you will be given temp items: super ethers, super potions, mega elixers, TP wings etc. so use them to your advantage. After you successfully defeat 200 mobs the first wave is over and the rune of release will spawn.

Now here is the extra portion that I do not have experience in so far, so all the information on this second part is second hand info I can't confirm. There is a second wave you can trigger for bonus assault points. To do so you need to free an npc named Lumaayu who is trapped in a mamool ja's cage around I-6/I-7. *Note: The NPC is not spawned until the first 200 mobs are defeated. Somehow (no one seems precisely sure how) an NM is spawned during the first wave, a Bluemage mamool ja named "Bluethunder Kaqool Ja", killing him randomly gives someone in your party a temp item Mamool Ja blackscale key to open the NPC's cage with. If your able to free the NPC she will ask you to escort her out so have someone check her, at this point the second wave of enemies will begin to advance. Get the npc to the Rune of Release and she will thank you and disappear, you're then free to continue killing the second wave. A second NM is capable of spawning during wave two (again no one is entirely sure how), a wyvern NM named "Festive Firedrake". Successfully clearing both waves of enemies and escorting the npc seems to award full assault points for this mission.

-Wamoura Farm Raid Lebros Cavern

**Important Note: While the southern mobs tend to nearly always be in similar spots on this map, the northern halves tend to vary, it's possible mobs can spawn randomly at any of the 3 dead ends north.

This one is long and you will need every bit of your 30 minute time limit to finish, time is the biggest hurdle here. The map is very large and takes considerable time to run through. Wamoura and Moth adults are the only mobs in the zone and your goal is to destroy all of them. They have similiar stats as normal outdoors wamoura/moths, wamouracampa do not agro but they will link, wamoura moths agro true sight and will cause wamouracampa to link. Blm and Rdm work very well for this, several nukes will kill a wamoura easilly. Any blm worth bringing should be familiar with soling these little guys so it's possible they could split off from the group. Whether you manaburn or use a standard party setup (I'm not familiar with standard party setup for this mission) keep time in mind always. If blms are resting, have someone going to pull while you wait, the distances are long do not hesitate or stop fighting for too long. It's possible but seemingly rare that a wamouracampa can suddenly evolve pokemon style into a moth adult Wamoura. The greater number of mobs will be wamouracampa and usually 2-4 moth adults, usually in the northern half. Take care when exploring the north half for enemies, the map DOES NOT CONVEY how COMPLETELY SEPERATE the northeast half is from the northwest half. You CANNOT simply waltz between northeast and northwest's tunnels, they do not connect like the game map makes it seems. In order to reach each half you need to walk ALL THE WAY SOUTH and around to each side. Remember this when finding the wamouras, you may even want to send someone ahead very early to check and see where they are north. Once all wamouracampas and moths are dead the rune of release spawns to finish. VERY IMPORTANT NOTE: previous assaults have conditioned us to think the rune of release will appear very close to the start spot, this is NOT true this time. The rune of release appears at H-8, significantly far off from the start, especially if your short on time.

-Defuse the Threat Perqia

Very simple, likened to a game of Hot and Cold much like the new "Chocobo Hot and Cold" game. Qiqurns have setup land mines throughout the zone you need to defuse. Defusing more land mines successfully will award more assault points. Once every bomb has been defused or exploded the Rune of Release will appear to finish. The zone is sprinkled with Qiqurns that, unlike normally, will aggro you. Sleep, gravity, and bind all work easilly to give you time. Fighting them is really more or less a waste of time. Invis can work to avoid agroing them to sneak around but you will need to be visible to defuse bombs quickly. Generally the idea is to spread out as a party to cover ground and find more bombs faster. Immediately when you approach a bombs location you will get a message that a bombs timer has begun, this means your nearby it. Your "metal detector" key item will give "Kachink" messages telling you how close or far away from the land mine you are. When you are somewhat close it will say: "Kachink......". As you close in you will see "Kachink..." And eventually "Kachink!" when your right next to it. If you manage to step on the land mines location it will appear breifly for you to see. At this moment you must check it quickly to defuse it. You have roughly 10-20 seconds once the bomb has become activated before it detonates automatically. Pay attention because occasionally you can stumble onto 2 land mines in a spread out spot and you will recieve messages from BOTH of them at once, so you would need to do your best to keep track. When you find all mines the rune will appear near where you enter.
