Finally it was their rest day. After weeks and weeks of work, Kato Shigeaki can finally have a break. But Kato didn’t really want to stay home. He figured he’ll just go to Starbucks and get on reading the novel he bought ages ago but hadn't had the chance reading.
He entered the small shop and went straight to the order clerk.
“One black coffee.”
“Your name, sir?”
“Shige.” He said and the lady scribbled his name in his cup. He paid for his orders and proceeded to go to a table near the back of the shop where he couldn't be easily seen.
He started reading his book.
He was very engrossed. The story was great and deep, it was really a good read. He was savoring the fact that he could now relax that it took three calls to make him look up.
“Shige-san?” the cashier called.
“Ah, hai! Hai!” Shige said as he stood up to claim his coffee.
The cashier smiled at him as she passed the cup to Kato.
Kato took it and opened the lid to find that it was not black coffee.
“Ah, Miss... I didn’t order cappuccino...”
"Oh, I'm terribly sorry, sir. Can I have your name?" She said, bowing.
"Shige."
The cashier nodded, "Could you wait for a while sir."
She was about to go but then another customer came.
"Excuse me, I didn't order black coffee."
"I'm sorry ma'am" The cashier said, bowing again. "Can I have your name?"
"Shige."
Kato looked at the girl in front of him and said, "That must be mine, did you order cappucino?"
The girl turned to him and Kato didn't realized holding his breath. She was so beautiful she didn't looked real, Kato felt like he was seeing a CG.
"Oh, I'm sorry I already took a sip, I'll just order you another one." She said bowing.
"Uhmm, no need... here's your cappucino..." Kato said still dazed, he was staring at her.
"Are you sure? No, I'll just buy you another one..." She insisted.
Kato kept staring.
The girl looked at him when she didn't get any response. "Excuse me?" She called his attention.
Kato blinked and then pointed at her.
The girl looked confused. "What is it?"
"You have..." Kato said and gestured wiping his mouth. "black coffee."
There was an awkward pause and the girl realized what Kato was talking about. She has a mustache of black coffee.
"Oh my God, excuse me." she said getting a handkerchief from her pocket and wiping her mouth. "God, that is so embarrassing." She said.
"Are there any left?" She asked Kato. Kato shook his head.
"God... so embarrassing... I'm so sorry you have to see that. Mou..." She said and she was agitated, she continued talking, blabbing... seeming very embarrassed that Kato blurted out, "Don't be embarrassed, it was cute."
He turned very red when he realized he said that. That was very bold. But then the girl said.
"Cute? It was cute? Oh, then that's fine then..." and she visibly relaxed.
Kato started laughing so hard and soon the girl joined him.
That was how he met Michishige Sayumi. It has been two years already but the memory was still very vivid. He let out a small chuckle whenever he remembers.
Ever since then they have been meeting in this coffee shop. At first it was just by chance. But then they started setting up dates. Just friendly dates, though. It was fun having to hang out with her, a new company who can still understand his life seeing as they're both idols.
The door opened and Kato immediately looked at the newcomer. He smiled when he saw her with her favorite pink hat and her sunglasses.
She smiled and waved at him, making her way to his table.
"Hey, Aki." She said.
"Michi." Kato said, smiling.
It has been their nickname to each other. They just took out 'Shige' in their names, 'Shigeaki' and 'Michishige.' It's also a good cover so no one would know who they are.
She sat next to him. "Have you already ordered?" Sayu asked him.
"Nope, I was waiting for you."
She smiled at him, "Thank you. Shall we?"
"I'll order. What would you like?" Kato asked as he stood up.
"Hmm..." Sayu said as she looked at the menu. "One Toffee Mocha and... hmm... one Very Berry Coffee Cake."
"Is that all, ma'am?" Kato asked, mimicking a waiter.
Sayu giggled. "Yes, that would be all."
Kato smiled at her. "Okay."
"Thanks Aki..."
Kato went to the cashier and made his orders. He gave the cashier the names 'Aki' and 'Michi'
And then he went back to their table to find Sayu listening in her phone.
She smiled when she sat and removed one of her earphones.
"I saw your new PV. It was great. You all look kakkoi. I already have it here." She said pointing at her phone.
"Already?" Kato said, smiling. "How is your new PV? Is it finished yet?"
"Yup. It would be released soon. Our costumes are cute. We're wearing different colors for each." She said.
"So I'll just look for the one wearing pink when it's released then." Kato said.
Sayu laughed. "Yes, I am wearing pink. 'Cause the color fits me."
"Cause you're cute?"
"Yes." She said unabashed. She was always liked this. It wasn't serious-conceited, it was fun-conceited, and true. She really was very cute, and pretty, and beautiful.
"How about Hey!Say!JUMP? Are they releasing another single soon?" Sayu asked.
"I think they are. Around the end of the year, I think. Why'd you ask?" Kato asked.
"Do you know Kanyon? One of my kohai? From S/mileage."
Kato nodded.
"I think she likes someone from the group. One of the younger ones. Anyway, she have their last single and let me borrow it. I fell in love with 'Romeo and Juliet.'" She said.
"Ahh.." Kato said. "You really like them, huh?"
"Hm?"
"Romeo and Juliet." Kato said. "You like Taylor Swift's 'Love Story,' too, and Takizawa-kun's 'Romeo and Juliet' with Nagasawa-san. Even 'Romeo x Juliet' anime."
She smiled. "But aren't their story beautiful? It's so romantic! Romeo and Juliet are lovers from feuding families. Romeo is a Montague, but Juliet is a Capulet and the two families have been at war for ages. They meet at a party and fall in love, but they know there's no way their families will let them be together. So they marry in secret. But then Juliet's cousin kills Romeo's best friend, so Romeo kills Juliet's cousin and is exiled from the country. But he makes secret plans with the Friar who married them to come back and steal Juliet away. The Friar gives Juliet a potion that will make her appear as if dead. Her family will bury her in the family tomb and Romeo can come and get her. But the message never gets there because of a plague, so all Romeo hears is that she's dead, so he thinks she's really died, and so in the tomb with her body, he poisons himself rather than live without her. And then she wakes up and sees him dead, and kills herself, too!"
"Ahh... Michi, I don't know if it's just me but I think that's far from romantic..." Kato said.
"Why?" She said, aghast.
"Well, they both died..." Kato said.
"But it's all for love!" Sayu said.
"Well, if I were Romeo, I'd find a better solution. I mean, there's nothing you'll change once you're dead. Wouldn't it be better to not run away and face your life?"
"But he felt that there was no life when Juliet supposedly died!" Sayu insisted.
"Still. That was very extreme."
"Okay, if it was you how would you have Juliet, then?"
"It's not Juliet I want" Kato blurted and then gasped inwardly at what he said. He slipped.
Something changed in the air between them. Kato couldn't look away from Sayu. And it seems she couldn't, too.
It was trance-like. And slowly Kato shorten the gap between them. It didn't felt real. He stared at her, he was enchanted. And then, he dip his lips in hers. And once he touched her lips, the trance broke, and he pulled back.
"I'm sorry." He said. "I got carried away."
But then he saw something changed in Sayu's expression when she heard the words.
Kato sighed. "Honestly... I wanted to do that for a long time now... but then..."
"My agency..." Sayu said.
"Yours and mine."
"Do you know why I like Romeo and Juliet so much? 'Cause it reminds me of us... kinda..." She said, timidly.
"So should I ask for kitchen knives? Cause I don't want a scandal, why don't we just skip the drama and go right to the romantic part and kill ourselves?" Kato said jokingly.
"Baka!" Sayu said laughing.
"That's not necessary." She said, "we're not Romeo and Juliet."
Kato smiled. "Yeah, we're Aki and Michi, ne?"
"Aki-san! Michi-san! Your orders!"

- in the first part, if ever Sayu would go to Starbucks, I think she would use 'Sayu' instead of 'Shige' but for the story... 'Shige' is really one of Sayu's nicknames, though.
