Disgusted Enough to Write a Letter and Act on My Anger
I am so sick of the ignoramuses in this country. I realize that we don't have a monopoly on ignorance, but I swear sometimes I feel like we're going to drown in our own bile and vitriol. Another company announced today that they are pulling their ads from the show All American Muslim because of pressure from angry ignoramuses in this country who for some reason think that all Muslims are terrorists. The Florida Family Association (FFA) (or whatever they're called) started a letter writing campaign to try to get all the sponsors to pull out of the show because the show didn't show the radical element of Islam. ...are you effing kidding me? The show features five American families from Dearborn, Michigan, of course they aren't showing terrorists! That isn't the point of the show. If you want to see terror, turn on the news and you will be bombarded with all the horror you can take.
Kudos to The Learning Channel for actually trying to show Muslim culture as it exists in the United States.
Shame on people like FFA for fanning the fires of ignorance rather than actually learning something about their subject matter.
Double shame on Lowes for bowing to extremist organizations. I regret the money I spent there recently upgrading my bathroom. I will not spend a dime there on the kitchen remodel, which will of course be WAY more money.
