All the dead guys we read lived terrible lives. The ones who talked about freedom had slaves, the ones who were obsessed with morals supported forced child labour, and my favorite philosopher put his children into an orphanage that had a 20% survival rate for no reason. So why should I listen to them? I guess Nietzsche said something about it being hard enough to write a system of morals, freedoms and rights without having to live according to it as well, but that's bullshit. And don't even get me statred on the Romantic-era thinkers. Bunch of pussies. Does this mean I'm going to have to think for myself? Fuck that. It seems like you can either think your philosophy but not live it, or live it without thinking it. And I have an essy to write about this.
