We found out her type of injury has a name- it's a degloving injury. Nice pic (on a human leg) here:
http://www.doereport.com/generateexhibit.php?ID=643 She had to get some MORE stitches because the bandage on the original injury slid down onto her heel and cut into it. Our care instructions didn't say anything about taking it off of her or it would have been off before it had a chance to cut her heel. They had to sedate her again and give her about 6 stitches. Then they charged us for it. !?!? For an injury THEY CAUSED. I told them that was fine, and that when I came to pick Josie up, I'd need them to fill out some information for me for the complaint I was filing with the Ohio Medical Veterinary Licensing Board. They took the charges off pretty quick after that, and poor Don got to listen to me bitching for a while when I got home hehe.
Anyway, she's doing ok, wants to go out and play, etc. Just thought I'd stick this up for the people who have been asking about her :)
