I'm not dead yet!

Hey, y'all. It's been a strange few days. I'm still not sure what's wrong with me, but it looks like I'm gonna live. On Thursday night, I began to feel a little woozy as I ate my Chinese take-out. I got dizzy, hot, shaky, and just all around strange. I sat outside and puked on my front porch (on my toes, it was gross). We called the 24 hour hotline for our insurance and a nurse said it sounded like I was having a reaction to MSG. She said I might need to go to the ER, and that I should contact my regular Dr. He said I should take Benadryl and lie still for about an hour, so I did, but I was still messed up. We called him back, and he agreed we should go to the ER. So we did, at about 1:30 in the morning. They poked and prodded and gave me an EKG and a bunch of blood tests and monitored my heart and said my pulse was high, and my blood sugar was high, but nothing to be alarmed about. They said it might be MSG, it might be diabetes, it might be overactive thyroid, they weren't positive, but it was nothing life-threatening. They gave me an IV because I was dehydrated, and I lay there with Sub and my Dad until about 6:30, when I decided I might as well go home. They gave me some nerve relaxer things, and I slept for awhile. Then, I went to the Dr. and he said he thought it was MSG, and he gave me some pills that were supposed to block the adrenaline rushing a thousand miles an hour through my body. I still kept having these waves of nervousness and dizziness, and it was like I was really physically scared, but didn't know why. I am much better now, though still quite dizzy. I'm not certain it was MSG, because it's lasted so long, but we know it's not diabetes, because my blood sugar is fine now. I'm going to try to go to the conference tomorrow, and hope to be back at school on Tuesday. I miss you!
