(no subject)
Since I haven't yet, I wanted to thank everyone who commented on my last post about my new hopes for promotion. It's just awfully nice to come back to the computer and hear all the support. *sniffle* You guys are the greatest.
Further updates on that front: just about everyone I've talked to here at Faulkner Place is behind me, which is just so surprising and awesome. The administrator who's leaving had her good-bye party last week, and at it she told me she had heard about my interest and thought I would be great for the position, which means I can totally use her as a reference. I think I can do this! But all of this hinges on one man: the guy who oversees all the secure residential treatment programs, who I have met maybe twice. He seems like a nice guy, but he doesn't know me, and I know he will be interviewing other people for the position I hope my current boss gets into, and the one I hope she vacates so I can apply for. I'm not sure what impresses him, but I feel like I've got the rest of Faulkner Place behind me, so I have a good shot. I'll be brushing up my resume, and waiting to hear what happens next.
And there was indeed a con, Norwescon, this weekend, but sadly I totally forgot my camera in the hotel room, so I have no pictures, bah! There were some amazing costumes, a lot of time spent looking for "the bee guy" (Andy), and a little time having my ego boosted. Sarah was much admired and pet and cooed at (she did the awesome unicorn costume, and looked crazy good), basically, we found a new roleplay friend ( laughtergoddess ) through a pet auction, and slept in one of the cushiest hotel rooms I have ever seen. It rocked!
