I wrote only one story this year, but hope to try for some NY's resolutions if I can get inspired. My story was for the fandom Life.

Summary:
When Charlie found Ted.
At first it was a struggle to figure out what to write, since the request was for Ted and Charlie and I spent days wracking my brain trying to come up with something that wasn't just a rehash of the show or set in prison, but in the episode with the coyote, Ted mentions to the documentarians that he was in a really bad place when Charlie found him, and that was the perfect impetus. I kind of knew going in that setting it before the series, and not having Dani in it, would limit readership, but wow it was soul-crushing to realize just how much that limited it. But I'm really, really happy with the story, and the people who did comment seemed to think I really nailed their voices, and my recipient liked it, so that's all very good indeed.
Every year, I wonder this same thing: Why does everyone insist on making recs posts only before the reveals, and act like it's some kind of deadline? I don't get this. Why does knowing the name of the author make it...unreccable? I have so many more stories to read yet, and hope to do more recs posts, but it's weird to me that people act like they can only rec anonymously.
