MDs complete series
Back when I first started my LJ, I posted about a series I was watching that was very short-lived, probably rightly so, because it was awful, but I loved it: MDs. It lasted eight episodes and we know there are three more unaired ones, but the likelihood of ever seeing them is small. As it was, getting quality copies of the eps that did air was amazingly hard, and most of them seem to come from VCR copies. And just try searching for it -- between the casing issue and the fact that MDs is such a common phrase, it's next to impossible to find, and I've never seen any torrents for it.
Recently, I stumbled on some halfway decent copies, and in the interest of trying to drum up maybe a few more fans for Yuletide, especially since I have found out that my most desired fandom isn't going to work because the most important character was somehow deleted from the character tags, I want to make these episodes available and see if I can scare up interest in time. If anyone who knows how wants to make these into torrents and post them, that would be wonderful -- a fandom this microscopic could use the help.
It stars William Fichtner and John Hannah as these two hotshot surgeons at a San Francisco hospital that's crumbling under the weight of its HMO business, so they're always breaking rules to save the dying patients, going up against the bureaucracy, and so on. I think they were trying for a M*A*S*H feel, but it definitely didn't work all that well, but Fichtner and Hannah are amazing together and so, so, so slashy. They have a SHOWER TOGETHER in the second episode, y'all.
Bonus Jane Lynch, too -- she plays a bitch on wheels who clashes with Our Heroes, basically a pre-Sue Sylvester character without the humor. Aunjanue Ellis from The Mentalist plays a nasty boss lady surgeon for whom they were clearly trying to build some kind of romantic relationship with Fichtner but fortunately they never got far. The show did its damnedest to put the two guys together even when there was absolutely no reason to do so. They basically always had to have some obligatory emotional scene together, and I for one was not complaining.
