Detachable Penis, political statement
This is really cool -- blogger and video artist Elisa at the Political Remix Blog wanted to talk about Detachable Penis, the Media Cannibals vid we made originally about... what, 11 years ago? Maybe more? If you haven't been to the blog, they look at video "remixes" that use what we consider basically the art of vidding to make political commentary. A while ago they began on occasion looking at specific fan vids that make statements, and discussing what those statements may be. She really listened to what I had to say about how people have made some rather definitive assertions about our motivations based on their particular interpretation (most of which are incorrect) of the vid, and she discusses that in her commentary.
While you're there, go look at the other vids they have up. One in particular I mentioned last night to some of the Cannibals, a commentary on the economy using footage from the Dark Knight with our ex-moron president talking about the state of the bailout. Very cool stuff.
