vacation
I'm on vacation this week. Needless to say I've been catching up on my sleep and doing some house cleaning.
Today we had some wicked thunderstorms (temperature dropped from the high 80's to 64, it was absolutely nice)
Can somebody please tell me why laundry never ends? Seems like the more I wash the more I find. And, of course, it's been so hot I refuse to use the dryer, I'll wait till the morning to hang it out to dry.
What else?
Oh yeah, I rented the movie "the curios case of Benjamin Button", definitely a good one. Weird, but a good movie.
On the plant front; one of my orchids I feared had died pushed thru a new leaf, there is hope. I have arranged them and my bromeliads under the shade of the pecan tree, hope the little gourmet fancy tailed rats don't discover them and decide to try exotic foods.
Wild garlic is in bloom and the wild onions have mature sets. Many tasty things will be cooked..oh yeah!
I evicted a hen from the nest today; she was trying to hatch unfertile eggs... oh heck it stunk! At least the nest (plastic doghouse) got a good cleaning and refilling with paper from my shredder, plus some plastic easter eggs. Hope the girls appreciate my work. Now to keep miss broody off of it...sheesh!
Mom & Dad are coming for a visit tomorrow (wednesday), it's their 50TH wedding annyversary on the 15th, and I wish they went out on a cruise or something, but they are determined NOT to, so, I'll shanghai them into a nice dinner somewhere.
Any ideas where to take them to? Anyone?
