* I know the safety pin thing is mostly a UK thing, but we need to bring it here. A simple safety pin to signal that you are a safe person to sit next to on public transit or in other public spaces for Muslims in fear of harassment. The wave of hate crimes has already started against all groups not white cis straight male, and given the threats by the President elect, now in particular it's important to step up to protect anyone under particular threat.

* I missed Dave Chapelle so much. It's good to see him working again. My Mom saw him long ago on actor's studio, not having seen any of his actual work, and asked me who he was. I said, "He's my generation's Richard Pryor." I stand by that. It's good to see him break his silence even if SNL did not make best use of his talents. Let's hope we see a lot more of him, because I think we're going to need him given what's coming.
* Many of you likely saw the homoerotic stills of Oberon and Robin Goodfellow from that recent Midsummer Night's Dream stage production that was filmed. I finally got to see play. I admit, I came for bisexual fairy kisses, but it was the Pyramis and Thisbe related hijinx that were the best part. Often Shakespeare productions suffer from being too solemn and from the people involved failing to grasp (as it were) the dick jokes etc. across the span of centuries worth of slang and idiom evolution and thus the humor tends to fall flat. My friends, the humor did not fall flat on this one. Oh my stars, this was the most delightfully wicked version of Dream I can remember seeing. It was properly, legitimately funny the way it likely was to it's original audience, and that is as it should be. I had a marvelous time.
