* Today's goals achieved! I finished a book needing to back, changed litter, and took down the external display stuff, except for some gourds I'm hoping to get away with as Autumnal and thus November appropriate. Ii still need to do switch over to the back half of Gothmas and the box is out as it gets stored with the other Gothmas storage boxes. I still need to put the boxes away in the closet and do some nit picky stuff. Two of my interior light strings are half burned out which means I need somehow to find money for three strings of replacement blue LEDS on top of the C7 7 watts I need to buy before Xmas stuff leaves stores. More alarmingly, I'll have the dangerous task of rehanging them. But that is for another day.

Hector is on day three of one of his manic episodes. It's good he's well enough to be causing this much havoc, but at the same time, he's a little to frail for some of the things he wants to do and when he's like this he CAN NOT STOP once he gets an idea in his head. Add to this his usual distress at the boxes coming out, because that could mean we are moving, so he was birmin energizer bunny alternating destructive to my belongings tantrums with howling and general mayhem. This is not a dementia thing or a stroke thing. This is just what he's like. Sometimes for months on end when he gets a bad one. So as part of this he escaped while I was bringing in decorations even though it was dark and raining and he is terrified of outside. He came back on his own almost immediately (see previous sentence), so I thought nothing about him being damp when he turned up in my room a bit later to climb things he's not supposed to climb and fling small fragile things from a height while loudly complaining about me taking down window clings in my room instead of migrating to the living room for lung meds and dinner like he felt I should be doing. Readers, it was not rain.

Me, going to clear away the Halloween specific window display parts: Why is this all so we-- Oh shit!

He'd apparently made grand leap for the long twenty that now lives on the old high 30 stand and has a precarious makeshift light source since I can't afford a proper replacement, somewhere he absolutely isn't allowed to be. He knocked the light (off, luckily, as I didn't want to be dismantling things with fish lights on nearby in case of accident) into the tank. Of course he did. Sigh.
