* The Turkish election is a pretty big deal. The ruling party, the AKP, has lost for the first time in thirteen years. They only got 40.8%, so they need to form a coalition, only the opposition parties are not much interested, so it will be interesting to see what will happen. (The second strongest finisher has 25% and has already said they won't join up). The Kurds have won seats in Parliament for the first time, their party championing LGBT and women's rights with 13%.

* Over the weekend, a gang of police thugs attacked a group of unarmed teenagers of colour, waving their guns around wildly and brutally attacking a young girl in a bikini, smashing her face into the ground, despite her being visibly unarmed. It being Texas, they ignored the white teens doing the same thing, choosing to brutalize only the children with darker skin. Authorities in Texas are pretending to investigate.

* I used all the spoons yesterday on changing bedding, cat litter, and feeding the animals and myself. I don't really sleep in chunks longer than 15 minutes at a time because I am just that sick which means I am exhausted and not thinking well. As a result, I apologize in advance for inevitable pour wording and random absences.

* Today, I was up early to start arranging doctor things. I was supposed to do a huge pile of phone calls, but was frankly too tired. I took a sample and lay down for another not sleep. Then it was off to hoop jump to get my antibiotics, in stinking heat in car like an oven, on streets full of random construction and detours, no available parking, and slow moving indecisive people blocking the way with their cars, bodies, gear, etc.. I had to go; there was no choice and I was scared I'd run out of upright before I got home, the ear infection escalating alarmingly. The Doctor did not take the ear infection seriously, but did give me my antibiotics. He also wants to do more testing to see if it's cf and not just cf carrier. They will test the sample in case what I have is more exotic than bronchitis. Then to the pharmacy and home. All I wanted was to get home out of the heat so I could take the damned meds and lie down. By the time I got home, the fever was way up and the ear infection unbearable. I did manual irrigation, took the antibiotic, did lungs, ate, then retreated to my room. The tramadol wassn't even taking a little of the edge off the escalating pain. I was far to sick to wait the 8-10 hours in the emergancy room waiting room and knew that either the meds and drainage were work of the ear drum would perforate in significantly less time than that, so rather than try to get Squirrel to take me, I popped and oxy and white knuckled it until it finally burst in my room, then listened to the static in the deaf ear until I finally drifted off. I managed most of an hour of sleep, which is the best I've done in days, but then the Medicare assholes phoned me for yet another endless survey and I couldn't get back to sleep at that point. I'm exhausted. I hurt. I'm all around crappy. I can't MUSH like this, so that's why I'm not around. Once I finish hydrating it's back to bed.
