* Re: Dylan Farrow. I believed her when she was small and Mia Farrow was speaking for her to save her from having to talk to the cameras over and over. I absolutely believe her now, and it's why I haven't given anything Woody Allen was involved with a single penny since.

I believe Dylan Farrow. I repeat this because so often children aren't believed by authorities and she wasn't. I repeat this because people often stick up for wastes of skin like Woody Allen and Roman Polanski and ignore the damage they do because "they are artists." Fuck that.

* My plan for today was lounge around in bed with Mache, dispensing pettins and comfort when she wants it and chicken gravy from the wettest high end goosh I can find when she signals she might want to lap a little up. Instead there was more housing Association Drama whicvh inmvolved a fast internet search for cheap window treatments and a long shopping trip I did not want to take. It turned out the best bet was the J C Penny's up at the mall, where they seemed to be having a massive clearance sale on curtains.

I've been avoiding Penny's since that time back in Eugene in the mid-90's when a particularly rude and assholish sales person refused to let me look at the clothes, let alone buy any, even though I could see things in my size and my price range. I just wanted some damned interview clothes not a lecture on how they don't serve people like me there. I was in my mid-twenties, well groomed, and dressed like a grown up. Just saying.

Anyway, it had been most of two decades and we were in another state, and I was desperate (These fucking curtains are cutting into my "We don't know how much they are charging us in property tax so I'm rounding up" Fund), so I went. They were polite and super helpful. As I suspected, the $15.00 Curtains I spotted online that were perfect were long gone, but I found two reasonable equivalents, and two things I'm going to have to line myself, plus four cheap $5.00 white curtain rods to match the woodwork at $86.00. I did not want to spend even that much at this point, but the other choice is the ratty partially broken blinds with apple to grapefruit sized holes that took me 45 minutes to lower last night due to their level of brokenness.

I like the warm, but diffuse light through the curtains, and I particularly like people not peering at me as I putter around at night through the massive holes in the blinds. Squirrel's going to help me with them when he gets back from game tonight, which is a huge help. I know how to hang curtains, but I'm in danger of a bad fall every time I use a ladder and it's a painful angle for my arms and shoulders. The better curtains are going in the bedrooms for obvious reasons.

I had to pay for them at the shoe counter, and as they were having a clearance sale on sneakers and my current shoes are in the second to last phase of falling apart, I ended up shoe hunting. Something most people don't know about transition unless they've done it is that your shoe size changes. No really. For the women, their feet tend to shrink and for men they grow. It not predictable how much change there will be. The result is, that unlike most adults, I was pretty vague as to my shoe size, it having been so long since I bought them and me not having a clear idea of how much change there was since the last time I'd bought them. I absolutely can not wear shoes from before, but that's not all that much help. They didn't have one of those foot measuring devises either. Luckily, the children's department had footprints, which let me quickly figure out that I'm am literally on the bubble for adult vs. children's sizes. (I'm short. I've always had small feet and hands). At clearance time, this isn't as much help as you'd think as the sizes in the middle of the bell curve go first. What I wanted were well padded cross trainers, in black or mostly black, or failing that in white. Children's shoes tend to be less plain, so it's harder to find stuff I like, but there were literally four pairs of plainish shoes in anything close to my size in the adult department. O.o The unisex plain black converse fit beautifully, but haven't enough padding. The white display model fit next best; the plain black cross trainers were right out size wise; I ended up with the black and greys which were reasonably comfortable and reasonable with my clothing. My feet are a whole size and a half different than they were when I started transition. O.o

They guy ahead of me in line looked like a prettier, femmer, counter culture Iwan Rheon from the Misfits. He had hipster/Goth clothes and gauge earings. He was mid-twenties, so much to young to flirt with, but there is nothing wrong with my eyes, just saying.
