* I'm too sick to sleep properly. I will not be on Trin tonight. hector's response to my illness is to howl at me. alot. "Stop falling over and making scary sounds! Stop lying still! Get up! comfort me!" Mache's response is also typical of her: come sit quietly on or next to her human, careful to lie so as not to restrict breathing. LM is apparently doing the same with squirrel. The junior beasts are grabbing pettins when they can without antagonizing my girl. My fever broke around 5 PM, which is an improvement, but the cough is still brutal. I have anti-biotics against the otherwise inevitable bronchitis I generally get once my lungs fill with goo, and I have medicine for my skin.

* The British have botched an attempt to contact opposition leaders in Libya. Meanwhile, France and Britain are drafting a no fly proposal for the UN, which is expected to fail over Russian veto. The Saudis are already rumored to be sending arms to the Opposition forces. Gadhaffi is claiming that not only al-Queada, but "American communist" infiltrators are behind the uprising. Gadaffi's forces are shooting at ambulances and the wounded, and he has closed hospitals in the capital to opposition and civilian wounded.

* The cost of cleaning the Wisconsin capital is 95.3% less than the outraged estimate. I am so sick of the endless lying from Republicans lately. Apparently, walker is already in the middle of an illegal solicitation of funds scandal. This doesn't surprise me at all. from his behavior and words, I don't think he'd recognize an ethic if he tripped over one.

* Walker is now talking compromise, but I don't trust him, given his previous plan to trick the Democrats into coming home with talk of compromise, then raming through his bill to strip union rights. The money Walker is stripping from K-12 education is going to pay for even more corporate give aways. He is also deepening the budget deficit delibrately in order to limit access to contraception.

* In Florida, the Republican governor has eviscerated school funding to pay for random corporate tax breaks and giveaways for the rich. He isn't even pretending it's for a fake budget crisis like they are doing in Wisconsin.

* In Michigan, they are proposing to raise taxes on Seniors and the poor to pay for corporate tax cuts. This is yet another deliberate redistribution of money from those who can least afford it to those who have way more than they need as part of the republican class warfare on behalf of the wealthy. There is now a Bill to allow a corporation to dismiss local elected government from the people, at the governor's whim. How is this small government? Why do Republicans hate democracy so much these days? The original Rollerball looks more and more realistic.

* I find the tactics Ms. Maddow is describing abhorrent. It's rather a shame more Americans don't feel the same, but it turns out Evangelical Christians are okay with with forced labor/rape/forced abortion camps as long as it's in the name of instilling brown people with Christianity. *Shudder*:
