I am stunned. I mean really, fully flabbergasted. I made it through both of the lines that stood between me and my student loan - in less than an hour!
I had two hours to kill between lecture, and I was still worried that it might not be enough. I brought a good book (okay, maybe not so good, but required reading for my next lecture) and comfortable shoes, I had emotionally prepared myself to stand in line (buffeted by the psychic disturbances of those around me less skillful in dealing with frustration) with the chance that I might not actually get to the end, I had made out my will in case I died of old age while in the line. But I made it to the front and got everything done in about a half hour.
I figured I would now be tempting fate, but I decided to use this unexpected hour and a half to go to the other line. Being the bright cookie that I am I bought a slice of pizza on my way so that I would be able to keep my blood sugar level up while I was in that line. But I get there and not only is there no line, but there is an unoccupiedloan person, who now wanted to know why I hadn't brought pizza for them. Holy cow!
So for anyone out there that is having a bad day, try to take some sympathetic joy from my tale of a painless interaction with bureaucracy. They don't happen often.
