contributions to the work of keeping some variety and adventure alive in the use of the English language.
People tend to be amazed at the supposed bredth and variety of words in Innuit language to describe snow, but fail to notice the similar breadth and diversity in English. "Desultorily" is not the same as "carelessly", or "non-commitally", or "haphazardly". Words are like muscles - they go away if you don't use them.
