So I'm back from camp.. cold, Phillip Island-y camp. My big new Grosby slippers were my staple. And would you believe it, I swum at Smiths beach on Monday, in 20 degree or less heat. Water was warmer than out of it though. Out of the 7, yes, 7, people on our two day camp, two groups were kind of formed. I ended up spending most of my time with Lachy and Cam and Candie, and Tim and Tess and Bernadette spent lots of time together. Thats not to say we all didnt mix, we did. But anyway. I'm such a suck. We got to Smiths beach after visiting the Nobbies, and I'd only brought my board shorts to camp because I thought it would be wa too cold to swim. Except, then I felt the water. And I hadn't brought any bathers. So I chucked my boardies on and my tops and went in, in my bra. In the prescense of, you know. Boys. No-one noticed, and I'm glad I did anyway. It was awesome, the surf was strong though. And then we all went to our cabins and had hot showers. In our terribly tiny bathroom. And we went to see the penguins.. it was really awesome, earlier in the day we had a ranger with us, and we got to look in a few of the premade penguin breeding boxes around the coast. And I saw two chicks. Penguin chicks, that is. harhar. But, it was sad. We saw like 8 dead penguins. Stupid foxes. Not many penguins on the penguin parade. Went back to the place we were staying at, which I think is a backpacker kind of place. Big rec room, had a bar, TV.. Lachy and Cam were watching the footy, which I mostly watched because they were. Collingwood and.. Adelaide? Anyway. Next day we went to Rhyll, then Woolamai..
Woolamai HAS to be my favourite beach I've ever been to. The waters was decent, even today, the surf is good, there's minimal seaweed.. only downside is the massive rips that can take you 2 km out. But I wrote stuff in the sand like I usually do, and Cam and I made a killer sandcastle. Then we went to San Remo for lunch.. nearly got killed by the seagulls. Honestly, they're crazy. And then we went home. Yup. There's my terribly boring account of the Geog camp. But it was fun. Ms Niven decided my teddy, my worldly teddy, was the Geog camp mascot. On the way home, we sang to the radio, took photos, and I joined in with Tess and Bernadette as we staged a sock puppet play out the back window of the bus for the people behind us in their cars. heheh..
