I was going to post this....

I originally had this as a long winded post about the war in iraq but I decided not to since it would cause unnecessary arguments, instead i respond simply to this argument. So if a lot of this entry doesn't make sense, it's because I came back and edited it.

"I find it interesting that we feed other nations, but not when they're hungry - we wait till they're starving"

I find it interesting that people will complain about us not feeding other nations that are starving, when 60% of Americans are overweight and 30% are obese.

I recently received an article given to me from my mom telling me how to start a charity. The process isn't as hard as one might think and it only costs $1000 roughly. Now you may say that you have no money for making a charity. I'll tell ya something, take $10 out of a paycheck, say a weekly paycheck, and put it into a savings account. It would only take you 100 weeks (almost 2 years) for you to raise that much money. That sounds like a long time, but you will have that charity for a lot longer than that and you can help a lot of people by doing it. You don't even have to do it yourself. Get 10 other people to help you out, and that will cut your wait time down to 10 weeks. In fact, I'm already working on starting on my own charity and have been saving up this whole summer now. If you want to help out feel free to let me know and I'll tell you more about it.

Starting a charity isn't the only way of helping people out though. You can do something as simple as volunteering for a local charity. There's other things out in the world that you can do to help people, and I encourage you to do so.

There's a lot of ways out there that you can improve our world, bitching about our president (no matter how much you hate him) isn't really one of them.

Anyways, take care.
