Third and Fourth Day of School!
what happened yesterday? well yesterday was portfolio with Mayerson which was a complete flashback of sophomore year. it's a rather big class but it looks like it's going to be fun regardless. so basically pencils and critics every week. stevie, mari, joe, nicki (ugggggggggg), caroline, and others. and mayerson is mayerson so it took a rather long time to get through things and class ended late. biiiig surprise.
after that went around looking for things. i got new headphones which are pretty cool. my big headphones crapped out on me on wednesday. the left one just didn't want to work so yeah. new smaller ear buds now. yay. i still have yet to make a good playlist. might have to figure it out, but i'm gonna be busy for a bit. after that me and stevie went to a ramen place to eat. yay.
today errrr....was fun. the class wasn't really a class. basically the teacher wasn't there. apparently he's like huge in the design industry with flash. his name is Joshua Davis. his stuff is pretty cool, but he wasn't there. his friend/co-worker was there and praised Joshua for about two and a half hours. so we really didn't get too much done. but the class will teach me more of the technical and design part of flash so i'll hopefully have a wicked cool portfolio website by the end of the term. i'm thinking of taking the second half of it next semester. Yes that means i'll be losing my lovely 4 day weekend but at least i'll have a three day weekend cause right now i only have weekends. if the class goes well i'll just stick with a three day weekend. lol. after class i hung out with stevie for a bit. (again! ugh! lol j/k) we grabbed some lovely iced bubble milk tea and sat in the monkey bar lounge just drawing. i got the thumbnails done for my new Jyuu/Sena project which i'll talk about in a bit. but yeah it was sort of cool just sitting there talking to stevie. like i dunno in the back of my mind i guess i feel like "we're friends just because we're in the same class" but the more i hang out with her i feel like "yeah we're really friends. she really likes my company and doesn't mind putting up with me". i know that's weird to think, but ya all know my insecurities. i'm just really happy though.
anywayz, as the time goes on though i realize exactly how much work really needs to get done by uh.... THE END OF THE MONTH!!!!
Manganext is coming up really soon! i have yet to get a hotel for me and Stevie let alone get any real selling things done. there's a huge ass list that needs to get done by then.
By at least 9/26 (i making that date up. for all i know it's actually less...) I NEED to have done...
- 7 page Jyuu/Sena comic that'll double as the doujin i need to complete for my Anime Wonderland class. (the assignment isn't technically due until October 23rd, but like i said i want it done for MangaNext)
- EyeSheild Chibis! i have about 9 to do only about 6 of them are inked! i still have to draw 3 of them and then color them all as well!
What I'd like to have done by 9/26...
-KH comic with Rachel. I'm having problems, not with the script (although it would be great if someone could maybe...write that last 4 pages...), but with the perspectives and such. i drew really rough versions of the pages and at some points i'm having problems with the angles. =/ so even though i'm sure the KH comic will be a great hit at MangaNext there's also February for Katsucon which will give me time to figure out what's happening with the script as well as hopefully fixing the pacing of it as well. Especially if more pages are added to it (which i don't mind) i'll be able to give it a lot more concentration.
By 12/20 I NEED...
-at least 15 pages of portfolio work done. This is going to be either detailed drawings or comic pages or whatever. anything we want in out portfolio. i've already got a script and thumbnails done for two stories. one is 5 pages and the other is 4 pages. so that's 9. i'll prolly do some character concepts as well for myself and figure that'd be a great sort of color thing to put in my portfolio. so that's uh...prolly gonna be another 5 so that means i'm a page short. i can prolly do a small color comic or something. who knows, but right now i don't care. it might come up, it might not. maybe a super short story about ANOTHER thing that's in my head. =__=
OTHER DATES!!!
-of course there are going to be other various assignments in between all this for my other classes. especially since i have yet to be at my monday, Intro to Animation, which Joe tells me will most likely be a lot of work.
MORAL TO THE STORY!
New Jersey friends will probably never see me. lol. because although i'm 'hanging out' a lot at the city it'll prolly be to get things done.
not only that buy i may be getting a new job if i can pass the interview with the branch manager for the HSBC by Washington Square Park. so it'll be interesting to the say the least. because if i work there i'll have weekends free which is prolly cool, but like i said my weekends will probably be taken up with work. ugh. i'm gonna be such a night owl. let's see how long it takes for me to crash.
alright, sleep time. gotta go to work at 4-10 tomorrow.
