Love me and despair
On this one-week anniversary of NO MORE TEACHING, I say to you all, "Hello." I solemnly swear to actually communicate with you. Even the people who don't read this LJ! Merry Memorial Day.
In other news... since I've made it a ritual to occassionally wish my favorite author, Lloyd Alexander, a happy birthday here, I thought I should report that he passed away on the 17th. We aren't devastated; he was in his 80s. (I explained this quickly to my students by saying, "He served in World War Two." This was always followed by, "Whoa! He was OLD.") Apparently, he turned in one last book, so I think everything's going to be better than okay. He's been saying goodbye gradually through the last couple of novels. This will be the last wave.
I will cry.
