Going all squee!

So I am starting to feel a little bit better.  Something was really kicking my butt this weekend, but being able to take yesterday off and not do a damned thing seemed to really help.  I managed to read through the second Stephanie Meyer book New Moon, while I watched the greatest Wimbledon Championship Match of the decade, if not all time!  Over 4.5 hours of game play and three rain delays took the match to about 930 p.m. in Britain, if the match wasn't over when it was, then they were talking about postponing it till today.  But Nadal finally pulled out the win in the 5th set when Federer faulted on a volley.  So, Federer's reign of Wimbledon championships are over after 5 consecutive wins.  It really was an awesome match.

And if that wasn't squee-ish enough, now I am going totally fangirl out on some manga.

OMG!  It took nearly two weeks for the site to finally offer a translated copy of chapter 159 of xxxholic, but it was really worth the wait.  And we ended up with a bonus of chapter 160 already translated too!   Doumeki finally speaks about his friendship with Watanuki, and why he feels the need to protect the boy, even though he really thinks the kid is annoying. And it had to be one of the saddest scenes from the entire series. He also makes mention of their "infamous" first meeting, although we have never seen it in the manga.  Watanuki always said that he hated Doumeki from the first time the met, and Doumeki confirms that Watanuki just started ranting at him on first sight, and then kicked him!    Although, this doesn't have anything to do with the main storyline arc of the series, it is some of the background information that I have been wating for.  Escpecially, since Doumeki doesn't converse too often.  (xxxholic is mostly about the adventures of young man named Watanuki who was "gifted" with the ability to see spirits, most of which are trying to kill him.  He starts a job at shop of Yuuko, who grants wishes, in hopes to pay off his wish to have this ability taken from him.  Instead, she pairs him off with Doumeki, who has such a pure chii, that he is able to purify the demons surrounding Watanuki.  Most of their adventures have to do with getting things for Yuuko's shop. Of course there is a lot more to it then that, but that's the jist).

And Watanuki finally reveals that he doesn't have any memory of who he was before he started working for Yuuko to Doumeki.  Which surprises Doumeki since he seems to have some memories of Watanuki from before then. And knowing the girls of CLAMP all of this will eventually be very important to the outcome of this story as well as its cross-over story for Tsubasa.

And talking about Tsusbasa.  I finally have the connection I have been waiting for.  For a year, I have been debating with others about how much connection this story has with its "alternate universe" version, Cardcaptor Sakura.  Since Tsubasa mainly deals with the adventures of a group of people through multiple universes, we have been wondering if they would ever cross over into the one world where most of the characters originated.  (Tsubasa is a unique work that ties together a bunch of different worlds and characters that CLAMP has created over the years.  By travelling through these different dimensions on their quest, we get to see places and characters that are familiar from reading their other work.  But the main world of Tsubasa is comprised of characters straight out of Cardcaptor. )  So anyways, we have been debating on wether it was truly just an alternate universe or not.  Well, we finally have our official tie to Cardcaptor story by finding out that one of our main characters is actually the son of the main characters from the other story.  And we sort of get to see the original Syaoran in the latest chapter!  This story is slowly coming to its conclusion, and I still don't have any idea where it is going end.

So on to non-manga news.  I have to get to the office today to report our mold issue in the basement.  Hopefully this won't take too much time to fix.
