I just want to start this entry with a nod of respect to Randy who writes one of the best webcomics I read. He usually does storylines that are mean/funny/honest but not to serious. Every now and then he does a storyline or panel that really shows you that his meanness isn’t unthinking but very sharp and pointed at people, he knows exactly who he targets and who he doesn’t. This particular strip also shows a range and an ability to tell stories without looking like he is trying. Go read today’s
here then read the beginning of the storyline to see how it snuck up on the readers. Warning, tears will be shed.
What is it with reading books or stories that make me cry lately! I read the end of the
Assassin’s Apprentice (recommended by
jedimika) and was floored by how good it was. I had to duck into the Borders downtown today while going to the Deed Room to pick up the second in the series. I can’t wait until the readers group next month. Anything else you want to recommend?
In other life events, not much new is happening here. Work is still going well. I got to send my first client letter under my own name today instead of Gordon’s. It’s the little things in life. I am currently working on a large project that could take months. That’s right, months. I am basically in charge of the tax implications of the sale of a business. My boss didn’t believe some of my findings today so I had to impress him with my dazzling research and tax skills by showing him I was right; in a thoughtful and respectful way of course, take the bitch!
We have also entered the wonderful world on DVR. I know, very materialistic of me and all, but damn, I get to record shows with the touch of a button, store them and can set it up to get movies whenever. Plus over 60 hours of time in there. Plus, with our subscription to HBO I have HBO on demand which has led to my discovery of the yumminess that is the show Rome. Right now I am taping Kill Bill I and never have to miss House to watch Supernatural. BSG is being recorded right now as well so I can catch up on the first season (I am hoping they play it).
I take my first step to lawyerhood next month. I signed up for the MPRE today which is the ethics test you have to take in order to become a lawyer. Damn, I cant belive how close this all is.
