Yep, we are having a blizzard. I can see the beginnings of the "white-out" affect that they've been talking about. Normally, I can see the park across the street. Well, not anymore. I have told work I'm NOT coming, as my job can EASILY be done from home. Not that I could get out the driveway anyway. THere's only 8 to 10 inches of snow in the driveway and my car is currently buried in it. PLUS, being pregnant and all I can't shovel this heavy ass snow. I guess it's so heavy from the sleet we've had on and off all day. Want to know the shocking thing? The lady who does the pagination for the paper, she lives 45 minutes from the office and tried for an hour to get her car out. She couldn't. She fell four times on the layers of ice. He car was spinning tires and she started smelling a burning odor.
She called our boss boss, who had been in earlier and only works about 5 minutes from the office and was told weather isn't an excuse for not coming in. Hello...blizzard. And she told the other reporter that too! I think that is so hypocritical because she herself went home early because of ... you guessed it ... weather! I'm fed up with the place, really I am. Well, upper management anyway. How can someone be so callous. Care so little for other peoples' safety.
It bugs me. Really bugs me. Anyway, it's looking more like a whiteout all over now and I'm hoping Eric comes home soon. Luckily he is just up the street, literally, and is a minute's drive. But you know what they say, accidents happen closest to home in many, many cases!
Anyway, for anyone else in this lovely storm we're having, stay safe, stay warm and enjoy your Valentine's Day. Nothing like being snowed in to sit down and cuddle up with a hot cup of hot chocolate and some popcorn.
Bye for now!!!
