It's out there now...

I submitted Lost and Found this afternoon to my first choice of publisher. I'm a little uptight because there was supposed to be an auto responder to let you know they got the manuscript, but that never came through. I did check my spam filters and it wasn't grabbed there.

Per their FAQ page, they note that these do go astray and that you can send a note to the submissions address asking if indeed the manuscript (and synopsis) was received. So I sent a quick note simply asking if they had received the manuscript. It's the weekend though and I'm not sure when to expect a reply to that either.

I'll sit tight at this point, I have no choice. The last thing I want to do is annoy anyone.

With Mark and Josh now submitted, I can now get back to VN2, a manuscript that I never intended to leave so long. Mark and Josh were supposed to be a quick short story, I think I started it back in June! It was my intention to have VN2 done by the end of September so that I could start something for NaNoWriMo. Well that certainly didn't happen!

It will be good to come back to Ian and Nate and the rest of that crew. I've also got a few new ideas I'm tossing around. Nothing concrete, nothing I can run with yet, but I'm feeling them both out. One set in England during WWII, the other in Vietnam and tied to the Battle of Hue. So we'll see.

And I've made the decision that I won't do NaNoWriMo this year. I'm not happy about it but I can not realistically do it. I've got two jobs now and the webpage business and it's all eating into my free time. Not to mention that I'll be gone at one point to Washington DC and then there is the holiday. So I've decided to bow out of it this year.
