July 4th week
Friday, July 1
Fireworks in The Clem with Ryn and his family. They were by far some of the best fireworks I've ever seen! We were so close to the action that we actually had pieces falling on us during the show. Tyler hated it but Dylan seemed ok about 1/2 way through. When we got back to the Miller's, Tyler wanted me to get him ready for bed and read him a story :) He calls me Fussy and is always making jokes about me eating all the food - it's really funny! I love spending time with Ryn's family!!
Saturday, July 2
Naughty Fest! This year was more naughty than last year by a long shot. Rick owes me a pair of underwear, Ryn dragged me to the pool by my hair, we did the circle of jello shots (there were 9 or 10!!) and much volleyball was played. There was also some pool volleyball and Live 8 playing on Rick's jeep. Judi's eye got all torn up but she was a trooper and pulled through just fine. Later in the gazebo a few rounds of beirut were played with the non-bouncy table and then time for kings! Towards the end of the night there was a kiss that didn't turn out well :) but a great naughty fest was had by everybody else! (Kitten, Rick, Shannon, Heather, Judi, Michelle, Lance, Christina, Ryn, Don, Josh, Abby, Donald, Charlie, Christy, Thor's Hammer Dave, and myself)
Sunday, July 3
Surprise Party for my mom! While Cari, Alex, Tony and several neighbor kids painted the shed and trailer white with blue trim, I kept my mom occupied with lunch, shopping and a lot of stalling around! They did a fantastic job on the painting, cleaned the house up and we gave her a DVD player. We headed down to the beach for some volley ball and grilled hamburgers for dinner. I unveiled my triple chocolate cake with chocolate chips, cream cheese frosting and the American Flag made out of blueberries and strawberries. It was SO good!
Monday, July 4
Happy Independence Day! Michelle and I headed down to the Taste Fest in Detroit and Ryn met us there for some good food and huge crowds! I had 1/2 a piece of sweet potato cheesecake, pierogies, a smoothie, pad thai, a lemonade and shared a waffle/ice cream treat with Ryn. The food was a bit expensive but really good!
Tuesday, July 5
Fun Tyme mini-golf with Ben. After playing our first round, we kept our balls and made a second go-through. I broke into the light house and climbed almost to the top when the boards started making creaking / cracking sounds and I decided to come down. He won the first game and I the second so there's going to have to be a tie breaker at some point.
Wednesday, July 6
Old Chicago. Hung out at Old Chicago with Kevin and The Depot people and added another beer to my card (I'm up to 3 now... *laughs*). Lance joined us for a bit and a good time was had. The best part was Jon being all drunk and trying to read the menu - lingerie and meatballs!
Thursday, July 7
Burgerama with Kevin. Cheap burgers and beer - totally hit the spot after a rough day at work! And the only thing that could make that better was the trip over to coldstone for the best ice cream ever!
Friday, July 8
Pool party here at Crossing Place and then ??? after work.
It's been a busy week but a lot of fun. I managed to take naps at rest stops / exits on Friday night, Sunday night and Monday evening. Last night I was so exhausted that I went to bed at 11 to rest up for the weekend :)
