saw three movies at the AFI big screen on Friday:
Beasts of the Southern Wild (beautiful! strange! mythic!)
Tron (silly & vivid)
The Shining (creepy as all get-out, tense)
Read: a beautiful comic novel MB had lent me called Blankets by Craig Thompson. It was confessional and honest and sad and sweet. Recommended.
-Had our final Boot Camp session of the summer - they took pictures
-Caught up with my friend Rob & talked about adulthood & responsibilities at Plato's
-Finished filming Steve N's superhero film
-Went to Betsy's farewell party - she's moving to Cincinnati for a year
-Had some catch-up time and clothing-swap at Jenny U's
-Said farewell to my friend Esther who is moving to NYC
-Watched the Olympic closing ceremonies w/Pauli over reverse-cream-soda floats
-Went on a walk in the woods in Laurel
-Visited the MoCo Fair w/Stacy & Nora, went on rides, ate fried Oreos
-Caught up with Andrew D. at McGuinty's
-Cleaned & vacuumed out my car!
-Went to anniversary dinner for my mom & stepdad at El Golfo
-Showed Pauli & goofed around with my old micro machines Star Wars toys
-Saw my sister's band play a fun show in Towson at the Recher
-Had lunch & catch-up with Lilybird in Columbia Heights.
-Went to RenFest and watched my fella perform all day
Have been taking an on-camera acting class for the past few Mondays - it's rudimentary but helpful, as I have zero experience with this sort of thing. It genuinely is a different kind of expression - the truth has to be so much more immediate and less.. shown.
Took a few vacation Wednesdays at work - the first one Pauli & I went to the Holocaust Museum, since neither of had ever been. It was tasteful and informative and important and sad, as to be expected. The following week we went up to Frederick and I took a yoga class with my sister, and then we all went up to Cunningham Falls and climbed the falls.
I went on a beach trip to Dewey Beach with Hannah and her sister Michelle. It was a lot of fun - we saw a bit of the crazy Dewey nightlife, then spent the 2nd evening hiding from the rain inside and watching Captain America. 3rd day we lay on the beach and I got sunburnt.

Summer is over,
Fiscal year ended at work,
new fall things have started
But I don't have much theater work lined up for the rest of the year.
Also, I am slowly pounding my head against my giant to-do list. I compiled all my goals & fixes and maintenance tasks into a super Better Life Plan document, which then proceeded to make me feel guilty and unhappy about all the aspects of my life that need work. Am trying to carve it into manageable chunks. Tis difficult.
