At midnight in the month of June, I stand beneath the mystic moon.

Took my car to the shop, got the oil changed. It has been veering to the right ever since I got it, and needs a large underpart replaced, but that will wait.

Went contra dancing with mom, got dizzy, took some dramamine, got over it.

Went to a fun BBQ up in Laurel with some non-theater friends from college, it was lovely.

Memorial Day - Traveled to Hershey PA to see the Ringling Bros' Barnum & Bailey circus with Pauli. It was fun and full of spectacle, and we got to run around backstage after and meet people. Also we went to a backyard pool party at Misty's house, which was lovely.

Went to a housewarming party in Capitol Hill.

Had a cancelled show of Illusion due to actor illness, went out with friends for dinner instead, then crashed the Constellation closing party.

Attended a celebration for the marriage of JMM and Cath, who lives in England.

Family came to the show, went to Eggspectations afterwards with the mom half of the family.

Did a show of Commedia R&J at Happenings at the Harman, which was pretty awesome. Very fun to re-visit that show and perform it every once in a while. Afterwards we wandered around Penn Quarter and went to the Portrait Gallery/Am Art Museum, which is way cooler than I'd given it credit for.

We had our final session of Project Gym - it's been a wonderful part of the past few months - really fabulous to spend each Sunday morning in a room full of creative people, learning new techniques and games, and generating work and art. Very excellent.

I've started taking a Boot Camp workout class on Tuesday mornings at the ungodly hour of 7 am. It's run by one of our former dance teachers at work, a firebrand Hungarian woman who is 7 months pregnant and who makes us run around in a field doing pushups, crazy lunges, and carrying each other around. It's good, but very challenging. I have learned that I give up easily.

For my sister's birthday we were going to go ziplining, but ended up going to 6 Flags. The first half of the day I was very sad because I am not a thrill-seeker naturally, but eventually I went on a few rides and I felt better.

Illusion closed. I had a great time, and want to post a big post about it, but will do so later. (hopefully)

Have started rehearsals for both the Fool for All (faction of fools' fringe show, i'm in a ten-minute scene)
and just last night, for a remount of suicide.chat.room with Taffety Punk, it's a collage dance punk play.

Shows I have seen:
Oxygen @ Taffety Punk
Hamlecchino @ Faction of Fools
HUM @ Theater Alliance
The Bacchae @ WSC Avant Bard
The Tooth of Crime @ WSC Avant Bard

The Tooth of Crime was awesome, so weird and wild. It's a rarely-done Sam Shepard play, a rock battle full of post-apocalyptic future-lingo and strange archetypes. It was really fun.

Also yesterday watched our co-production at work of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe with the washington ballet.
It was strange and beautiful - I worry that some of the plot points will be totally lost on the youngsters, but it certainly is lovely.
Lots of stirring moments and violin music and dancing and snow falling and a giant Aslan puppet. I cried like 9 times. I am such a spectacle cryer, I just can't deal with big beautiful things, movement and light and music, it's overwhelming.
