Whatever you've got, send it in

We've reached the part of tax season where I need to just punt.  Yesterday I had a client in who wanted to talk to me about her per diem nights at conferences as she tries to get her business workpapers - done in Microsoft Word - to print. I know she valued this special time with her CPA very highly, but I needed to get her out of my office before I killed her.  I roughed in the return, and she anxiously said, "how much am I going to owe"?  I replied, "you definitely don't need to send more than $5,000."  She laughed hysterically.  She could *maybe* scrape together $1000.  Well, I said, send that.

I gave her a voucher with the amount to be paid left blank and told her to tell me how much she really sent, and to make another appointment in May or June when I could spend time trying to get her Macbook air to regurgitate the piece of paper where she typed the numbers that may be related to the totals of the receipts in the shoebox.

Punt.  Extension season is here.

With T-7 I have 128 to go.  Here I go.

work, countdown
