And then a happy thing happened!

More at my break, but someone just delivered an edible flower arrangement to my office addressed to Gwen Dally.

It's the inverse of yesterday. I can't even tell you how cool this is right now. So cool.

Edited to add:

Now's it's 6:15 pm and I just got off work. My first client came before I had a chance to eat my grapefruit half, my second client stayed all the way through my lunch break and didn't leave until the third one was arriving, the third one stayed all the way through my mid-afternoon break and didn't leave until the fourth one arrived, and the fourth one just left now, at dinner-time.

I was able to forage for fruit (and some chocolate) through-out the day in the seconds I had to feed myself from food that was pre-cut and presented to me on skewers for rapid grabbing. Not every day is as horribly hard as today was, but today WAS horribly hard and the edible arrangement made it easier in every conceivable way.

Happily I did not have any conversations with the New Guy today or I might have had to explain who Gwen Dally was. (Or how I felt about him not helping me out any during either time when my breaks were over-run. As my husband explained, how was he to know my schedule? Apparently "my calendar in front of him" isn't an answer that occurs to either of them.)

I feel totally over-run by people who just want me to serve them, including my employees. A touch of kindness towards me goes way farther than people would expect.

I guess it's a good thing I've sort of blown my internet anonymity or I wouldn't receive deliveries to my house. :-)

a day in the life, joy
