I hate people.
I've been combing through my client list putting memos under the category "blacklist" on all the clients I particularly hate. I know, intellectually-speaking, that I don't actually hate them most of the time. I just hate them now. But, oh, do I hate them now.
I'm not going to tell you the horror stories, partly because I suspect they will sound less horrid if I write them out. ("They wanted me to do TAXES! THEIR TAXES!") The general gist of this is that everyone whose returns are not yet done are bugging me to finish them. They are not, however, giving me the actual INFORMATION I need to finish them. I just worked on three different client's returns and was not able to actually get ANY OF THEM even on extension. That's right, my clients are not giving me enough information to get them on EXTENSION.
As I said, I hate people.
So, let's see, I started work at 7:30 this morning. It is now 10:30 at night. I got seven returns tucked away, with 20 more in house and 42 purportedly still coming. Sixteen of those 42 people who have still not landed have not even scheduled. I have four appointment slots left. Of the 62 people I'm supposed to finish in the next 62 days, there are five currently on my "ready to do" list as I go to bed tonight. 57 of them don't have enough information in to me to put them on extension.
God, I hate people.
