Up and down, mostly down
Ela couldn't stand up this morning. I helped her up and she tried limping around, but the mass in her shoulder appears to have dislocated her shoulder. I tried to reduce it but just hurt her. I can't fix this: the mass is still there. Massaging used to make her feel better. Now she doesn't want me to touch it. She cries when she steps on it now.
We carried her down the stairs. She's been hanging close to me all day with an elevated heart rate and her ears back.
I called the vet and asked if we could increase her pain meds. The vet moved around a surgery and is getting Ela in tomorrow instead of Monday for the x-rays and blood tests we asked for. They're doing the x-rays under sedation. It's going to hurt like hell.
I called up a client and rescheduled her. I'm taking her to the vet myself. No other family member is around and I just don't think my dog will be okay with going to the vet with my assistant.
