My sister's husband died this Fall. It was a wake-up call: shit is getting REAL. I have been so busy building a better tomorrow that I often forget that all we are guaranteed is today. I'm sad that a wonderful man I know just died and his funeral is set for when I'm gone.
I'm sad that I'll miss an annual event some of my friends are doing that falls that week-end, too.
I'm worried that the plane trip will be too awful - I hate being on planes.
Going on vacation is hard and scary and sometimes sad, but also exciting. It's hard for me to feel just excitement, though, when the other stuff is true, too.

London is one of my heart homes in Europe and while I do love the British Museum I love the V&A above all else though it is a very different sort of place. But if all is new for you it will all be wonderful so enjoy enjoy ENJOY!
We're heading to England for Christmas ourselves...not London, though...Norfolk.
