Man dies in sex game gone wrong.

A Gold Coast man found dead and tied to a chair by his housemate may have died in a sex act gone wrong, it has been reported.

Police were called to the Varsity Lakes townhouse at 11.45am yesterday after the naked and bound body of the man in his 50s was located in an upstairs bedroom.

The Courier Mail reports police are looking into the kinky sex angle after a woman who is believed to be a sex worker was taken away in a blue forensic suit.

Earlier the scantily-clad woman had asked neighbours to call her a taxi after saying "something bad" had happened inside the townhouse.

Cabbie Gary Maher told reporters at the scene "something was amiss" and "out of the ordinary when he arrived for the pick up.

His vehicle was declared part of the crime scene and he was questioned by detectives.

"Nothing surprises you in this job, you just go with the flow," Mr Maher said.

Forensic officers spent the day collecting items from the garden and the unit itself and the death is being treated as suspicious, with homicide detectives joining the investigation late on Thursday afternoon.

"Another occupant of the house returned and found a deceased male in the premises," Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson said.

"We're certainly treating it as suspicious in this point in time."

Nearby residents were shocked, describing the street as a nice and quiet area.
