Why I win at Shiny
Christmas has definitely come early for me this year :D
Thursday meant that my Lipservice outfits arrived (one and two). Good news is, the pinstripe one fits well, but the military one doesn't really fit at this stage. I've put on too much weight. So yes, New Year = diet.
This will be helped by the implementation of our new Melbourne IT staff benefits, which include free fruit, bottled water and gym membership at Fitness First in the Valley.
Friday brought good news - I'm so far ahead in rent that I don't need to pay rent until February.
Woot!
On top of this, it was pay day and I had some pre-party shopping to do. So I went and bought myself some 14-hole docs. Long overdue. While doing so I ran into my best friend from primary school's older sister. Damn you Brisbane! Went and spent more at Napoleon - new Liquid liner I have to apply with a brush... going to take some adjusting to. Also some silver eyeshadow.
Christmas party was awesome. Nem wore his satin Neo trenchcoat, very cute :P I, of course, wore my new pinstripe Lipservice dress. <3. A double (or was it triple?) scotch while getting ready certainly helped. Paul came along with us too, which was awesome.
After minor problems trying to find the Rugby Club at Eagle Street Pier (it all looks the same after awhile) we arrived and soon were taking advantage of the free booze.
Amusing points include a mini irc people reunion, People talking about their genitals far too much and someone managing to walk diagonally because he was far too drunk. Also Eather gets extra points for getting stuck in an elevator and held in lock-up.
Cheers go to Peter for the shots of green/black colour and minty after-taste. Not sure what that was, but was good all the same!
Further missions off to Shella's, and we end up leaving around 2am. The Valley makes me totally paranoid, this is baaaad.
Lots of chats and chain smoking then crash out around the time we saw it was getting far too light outside.
Saturday was full of missions! This is where I procured my new shiny toys - 30 GB Black ipod and Black Nintendo DS lite :D
Need some recommendations on DS / GBA games. I have Nintendogs and Zoo Keeper. Looking to get the new Yoshi game and some sort of Mario game.
I have heard that you can download old games from the Nintendo website. How is one supposed to do this? Also, how do you get them on there?
Went and hung out with friends of Nem's, watched tele, had beers and scotches and chats. It was a nice relaxing weekend - great to get out of the house.
I decided against going down the coast, work tomorrow and lack of much sleep led me to decide to come home.
Now I'm home and wishing I had more games for my DS or even just something to do other than to import all of my cds into iTunes.
So yes, Queen of Shiny.
