Sydney trip and other stuff
So we did it. shellasaurus and I drove from Brisbane to Sydney and back on a weekend.
We left at around 1.30am Saturday morning, hit the road, and arrived in Sydney at around 1.30pm. Went to Bondi, dropped off Tony who was the purpose of the trip. Further proving that Brisbane is one degree of seperation, where else can you pick up a stranger who knows about your first relationship with a woman? Only one side of the story, but still amazed that it really is a small world.
So after Bondi where we saw the thousands of beach bunnies and yuppies, we ventured about to attempt to get to Leichhardt (more accurately, fort_leichhardt) and managed to get lost in the city, going the wrong way off the harbour bridge and ending up driving through various Sydney landmark streets and past purty places. Eventually ended up at my destination and hung out with illdrinn and ozgenre until I passed out sometime in the evening. Awoke with a coughing fit sometime around 2am with Amaya out drinking with neighbours so I crawled into her bed.
Woke up around 10am Sydney time, went and took advantage of trashy tv access :) Maury show, Bridezillas and random BMX / Skateboarding and Snowboarding tv shows until people arose to share the love of Attack of the show. Amaya gave me lots of tv love on a disc and Shelly and I headed off for missions of Krispy Kreme proportions for zparcs.
We managed to find a shell service station, and the airport without getting lost. Full of awesome. Krispy Kreme however, was a little more difficult to actually get to than what we first anticipated. In order to get to the store, you have to go up a little side street off the main road that goes to the airport. This is extremely hard to know if you don't know where the store is in the first place...
So we drove through the airport. Then back onto the freeway going south, we spotted the Krispy Kreme but there was no way to turn into it... *cries*. So we drove for a bit, vowing to take the next exit... another 10 mins of driving and we are somewhere in Botany Bay... WTF? Somehow we managed to get back to the right place and find the Krispy Kreme and sit in the drive-thru (OMGWTF DRIVETHRU DONUTS!) trying to figure out what to order. With only $10, we managed to get 6 donuts because the hawt guy behind the counter was very nice and gave us a discount ($10 instead of $12.50) and 6 donuts for that price (two of which were $2.50 each donuts). Full of love! So we headed off into the sunset...
We were on the road for about an hour when we stop in at Shelly's aunt and uncle's place outside of Grafton. We stay for drinks, chats and pizza, and dont get back on the road until 8pm-ish. Long drive home, icky roadside "toilets", (mostly) good music and good company. I drove the longest I've ever driven (around 3 hours) through Ballina, Tweed, Gold Coast etc... ended up feeling really tired by around Coomera so I pulled over and Shelly took over. I fell asleep almost instantly...
Home at last, at around 6am. Urrrgh. Felt horrid and my head was a pounding wreck. Took the day off, lots of nurofen, a shower and lots of sleep and by 3pm I was feeling somewhat human again. Got up and watched some TV stuffs before turner23 came over for TV love and Donut Delivery Missions and Mashies Missions. Those Mashies are weird.
Back home where I watched lots more TV before crashing.
Today I was up early. Plenty of time for showers and even makeup, coffee and hair straightening. Can't wait to go home to my boi... I missed him so much this weekend, I hope to share it with him sometime... Squee...!
