There goes the weekend of serious pie. I finally finished my dinners but not without getting really grumpy about steamed courgettes and talks from pompous elderly judges, who you cant quite make out because their jowls wobble every bleeding word. Was tempered with very nice wine, port and mockery with Catherine, which is always unwholesome snarly fun. We went back to hers for wine and tried to get reacquainted with popular music. My god, what shite is out there at the moment?? Reverand and the Makers and Scouting for Girls aside, its boring, sounds the same, mostly steals from older bands that did it better and.....I have turned into an old person... but I dont fucking care! hehe thats a very comforting feeling :-)
Got Saturday off so mooched round Camden with Lydia and Cath. I was very restrained though sad now that I didn’t buy a wooden mobile capturing decaying fish in the agony of death…I thought it was cute though perhaps a little horrific for a bedroom. Did get a Diablo tricks book, so will be out wiggling my sticks again as soon as the wind dies down. I’ll be impressed if I can get the thing to stay on the string at the moment. Went to loads of places I’ve really missed since leaving London, well the Edinbro Castle anyways, and saw Sweeny Todd, which was excellent - a funny sad sexy all singing gore fest. And yes, even dripping in the blood of the innocent Mr Depp still brings on purring. The man ain’t right. We headed up to Hampstead and the Holly Bush, which is still probably my favourite pub ever, talked a lot of toot and made holiday plans. More Sharm (pee’s with joy) and I get my way this year…Luxor by plane :-) thank fuck! Getting diveily excited thinking about it. Went to a stunning Greek restaurant, gorged on lamb, vine leaves and baklava before staggering home perving at some of the turreted mansions that I would probably give a… finger (at least) to be able to afford. Got up feeling a bit sick to suffer another dining session and the train home. I’m fearing this week, what with packing, moving, a dive course, a lot of gym, Spanish and work I’m not seeing much time for sleep, which is sad cos I really like sleep….and on that note, must remedy 2 nights of floor. *aches*.
