Moving!

I've decided that, by this time next year, I'll be moved into my own studio apartment. It's going to be a major bitch to pay for, and I'm still not sure how I'll come up with $1200 a month to pay for all my bare necessities (including food, rent, and, heaven forbid, the INTERNET??), but I'm determined to do this! It seems like everybody around me is moving out and becoming self-dependent, while I'm still in my corner of the house listening to my mother lecturing my little brother in the hallway and then coming into my room in a fit of rage to remind me that I've still got chores A through X to do. Not only that, I'm starting to feel like I'm a burden to the household; my mom's constantly giving me guilt trips about the bills she has to pay for, always with a footnote that, yes, I am in fact more trouble than I'm worth. 9_9 And general living expenses aside, my sleeping schedule is looking like it will never stay normal for more than a week, and I can only imagine how irritating this could be to everybody else under the roof. Also, my little brother is a year away from entering middle school and he's still sleeping in the same bed as my mom; he hasn't complained about it much just yet, but then again there's no room for complaint when there's just no room in the house for an extra bed. Either he and I bunk together (bad idea), or one of us moves out, and as much as my mom enjoys tossing threats of deporting my little brother to Taiwan, I highly doubt that's going to happen any time in the near future.

SO yeah. Grants will cover roughly $350 of the monthly costs, although that's based on the grants I'm receiving from living at home; perhaps I'll get more next year when I check on my FAFSA that I'll be going by way of off-campus housing...? Will apply for some scholarships too. Considering the success of the book sales from this year, if I manage to put out another book by next summer they could potentially cover an additional $400 a month depending on how well those sell. Hopefully I'll be able to get a fair amount of commissions to rack in an additional $100 a month, and then maybe cover the rest with a part-time job? Borrowing money from mom will be the very very last resort. >_>

RAWR INDEPENDENCE.
