Day 17: Old Skool Ship of the Day
Barbara/Ian! This meme has reminded me of their loveliness. I loved Babs/Ian from first time I saw them. My love grew exponentially with The Daleks and the cardigan scene. Which was actually from the Chase, apparently, bugger. Here, have some pictures of lovely what I nicked off the internet:

Day 18: New Skool Ship of the Day
Amy/Rory. I was going to do Doctor/River, the Doctor/Romana of NuWho, but I wanted to do Amy/Rory because I did Babs/Ian. The first (implied) couple on the TARDIS (who presumably then went off to get married) and the first married couple. Also there's the fact that the line "Melody Williams is a geography teacher" makes me think of Babs and her awesome.
Let me say again why I love Amy/Rory: Rory is sometimes patronizing and almost always insecure and occasionally a little bit arrogant. Amy at least HAD more commitment issues and abandonment issues than...someone with lots of commitment and abandonment issues. Both of them are flawed, and between the whole accidentally killing Amy thing and Amy's tendency to do things like run off before her wedding night and kiss the Doctor (which I get and I don't have a problem with, but it clearly makes Rory uncomfortable) they have a lot of rough history. But they are completely in love. Rory is Amy's best friend, and she loves him, and she doesn't want to be in a world where he isn't alive (which, okay, potentially a bit screwed up, but hey, I ship Doctor/Master so I can't really complain). Rory's whole world pretty much IS Amy (again, a bit screwed up). Anyone notice in the Big Bang when they leave, Rory doesn't say goodbye to Leadworth?
So yeah, they have issues. But I like the characters, and I find them screwed up enough to be interesting. Plus, insecure characters and characters with abandonment issues and commitment issues having happy, normal(ish), loving relationships gives me hope in a sappy sort of way. And Rory reminds me of a guy I knew once, who I kind of miss.

...Rory looks mildly annoyed in that photo. Amy's just like 'hullo photographer. I can haz husband' and Rory is like 'dude, how many more pictures? I'm with my WIFE.'
19: A Ship Nobody Else Likes But You Love:
Um...there isn't really one? I used to very big on Mickey/Jake, that wasn't terribly popular. I've never seen a Ten!Coat/Six!Coat fic, which is my new favorite ship, but I wouldn't be surprised if one exists.
20: A Ship Everyone Else Loves But You Don't
Well, the obvious answer here would be Doctor/Rose. Which not everyone loves. So I don't know. There's so many different opinions in fandom, I think Doctor/Rose is the closest I can get to an answer to this question.
21: Something You Ship 'Because Its So Wrong'
Um, nothing? I have some ships between people who never meet, like Jenny/Lady Christina.
