In case you plan on seeing Jurassic World
1) Do it!
2) You'll get exactly what it says on the tin. Plus more Raptor feels than you bargained for.
If you go and see Jurassic World, I trust that you do not expect to see anything profound or surprising or even in the same universe as scientifically accurate, because you most definitely won't.
What you will get is tons of nostalgia - I was too young to see Jurassic Park in the theatre and now it feels like I finally did - while watching dinosaurs. Who eat people. And a lot of small throwbacks to the old movies. Actually, the entire movie feels a bit like time travelling back to the 90s, except for the CGI. But then again, the original movies were ahead of their times when it comes to special effects, so maybe not even that.
But nostalgia aside, what really makes this movie is Owen and his raptors, mostly Blue. Does it make sense? Not really. He clicker trains them for fuck's sake. But it was so great to watch the dynamics between them. My heart broke a little bit several times watching them. Just to overflow once more a few minutes later.
I already knew from the trailer that they would be my favourite part, but I certainly did not expect to get THAT emotional over a couple of raptors.
I also really feel like the very last shot should have been Blue, and I'm a little sad that she didn't get to have it.
So if there is a sequel, which I'm pretty sure there will be, Blue better be back.
