Welcome to the Ninth Night of the Darkest 13 Nights of ChristmaHanuKwanzaakah. The prompts have no deadline and can be combined with past challenges as well; don't feel as if all works have to be posted before the next prompt is given. Any work (even light-hearted ones) is welcome for this challenge. Fics are not the only works that can be posted

I totally loved the special effects! It made the battle sequences a lot easier to watch than GW. But I hate that there's apparently a difference between the English and Japanese versions, assuming the subtitles are accurate. Like over dinner on her ship, Delphine goes on about how the wars are to keep the population from exploding on an already cramped world and making the water shortage even worse or something like that, but in the English version there's no mention of any of that. Grrrrrrr.
Didn't like Lavie all that much, but didn't hate her, except when she was so bitchy to Al in the beginning. Loved Claus and Dio the most, liked Sophia and Al okay. Mullin was all right when he wasn't around girls; then he'd become a total wimp and I'd hate him. Vincent was wondy, at least in Japanese, but I didn't like Alex much. Hated Tatiana! Somehow she reminded me of Noin without the stalking, and I didn't much like her friend Alister either...and not just because she resembled Relena. No, really. Hated Dunya for some reason and liked Wina Lightning, the sonar operator or whatever, though they didn't really have big parts. It was so poignant when Wina lied to Sophia at the end and told her that Alex's last words were her name. Bawwww!
Actually, it was mostly the little scenes between people that were so awesome, like it was cool when Tatiana and Claus crashed and Tatiana had a breakdown. Then I felt sad for her, but once she got back on board the ship I hated her again. It was cool when Mullin pointed his musket at that soldier when he wouldn't let Lavie read the letter from the fleet commander's daughter. It was way cool when Alex sinks the Goliath after he's challenged to a duel by the obnoxious captain. It was cool when Dio thought he'd killed Lucciola after he goes mad and then falls out of the vanship, although that was the saddest part of the whole series to me. Waaaaaaaah!
*wonders why his voice is heard later in a totally unrelated scene on the Silvana*
Absolutely hated his sister from beginning to end, but loved the way she looked. *intends to go to a con dressed as Delphine Eraclea someday*
It was funny how many reused scenes and effects were used in Tactics, too. In Tactics there's a scene where the female villain ties up one of the good guys with vines of red roses almost exactly the same way, and the beam of light effect that splits the clouds in one scene is used in Tactics when a little girl dies and is beamed into Heaven. Oh, and a couple people turn into rose petals or shattered glass or whatever it is, rather like Lucciola does when he dies. *slaps lazy animators*
The ending was completely disappointing to me after all that buildup, where the mysterious and unexplained Exile thingy is finally activated by Al to reveal its true form, whereupon it turns into a totally different but equally mysterious and unexplained object. Grrrrrrrrrr!! *shoots animators now*

I watched the whole thing in English as I was watching on Netflix. If there's a way to change the language, I don't know it. I thought I remembered Delphine mentioning something about keeping the population down cuz there wasn't enough water (supposedly) for the poor people-and only a few elite people got the benefit of enjoying tons of nice water.
I didn't like what motivation they gave Alex, so I have already started thinking on my own version of him. ^^ *makes him better* Actually, I'm afraid I may do to Last Exile what I do to Gundam Wing and make my own changes to "improve" upon it. XD
But Exile turned was a ship that took the characters up into space and then later to Earth! Although I don't understand all of it. Hm. *definitely takes Alex and Vincent though, and maybe gives Sophia to Une as a sister or cousin*

I thought that people from Earth went to their planet and made it, and then they forgot technology or something, but I'm probably wrong.
I agree that there are still a lot of questions, and I don't have answers to most. ^^; I have no idea how Al got to be the way she was, or what happened to the people.
I didn't feel any chemistry with Dunya at all-like they just threw her in there and forced her parts.
