“You want to what?”
“Take a detour to Pennsylvania!” Duo said, smiling at Quatre.
“Oh, alright then, I guess since you said so - no!”
“Come on, Quatre...a friend of mine has been feeling down lately and I have some stuff that might cheer her up!”
Heero walked in on the scene, glancing between the two as Wufei and Trowa followed suit and came up behind him.
“What’s going on?” Wufei asked, frowning.
“Duo wants to go to Pennsylvania!” Quatre exclaimed, throwing his arms up in the air in frustration.
“...why?” Heero asked.
“My friend lives there!” Duo explained. “And I want to give her something.”
“Like what?” Trowa asked, suspicious.
Duo pulled out something large and hairy.
“See? I just have a penguin plushie for her.”
“...did you steal that from the zoo?!” Quatre asked furiously.
“Of course not! My stealing days are over! I left money for them at the cashier!” Duo held the stuffed penguin defensively.
“The full price?” Heero said skeptically. Duo coughed.
“Well. It’s not my fault if I was rushing and I couldn’t see the entire price...”
“Duo!” Quatre stared at him, indignant. “That’s called stealing!”
“They started it! The zoo people are ripping us off! It’s way overpriced!” Duo replied loudly, taking off the price sticker discreetly.
“Right, it’s just a big old zoo conspiracy.” Wufei sighed, leaning against the rail.
“It’ll be a really quick pit stop, I promise,” Duo pleaded. “We’re almost there anyways...”
“Ah, so that’s why you had the map sideways.” Heero exhaled. “Since we’re already going...” He exchanged looks with the other guys.
“I’m okay with it.” Trowa spoke up. “I’ve always wanted to see Pennsylvania.”
“Yeah, it’s famous for a lot of things!” Duo brightened, grinning.
“...like what?” Wufei asked, raising an eyebrow in question.
“...well, I don’t know personally, but I’m sure that if we went to see my friend, then she would know!” Duo replied.
“Oh..." Quatre held on for a moment longer before caving. "Fine, why not. I’m getting used to this anyways. Better Pennsylvania by boat than you suddenly deciding to jump in and have a swim with the sharks to add on to your list.” Quatre drew his hand down his face in exasperation, walking away to talk to the captain of the boat. Duo whooped.
“You won’t regret this, I promise!” He jumped up and followed Quatre out, off to get the other goodies he’d promised his friend.
“...then why do I regret it already?” Wufei asked himself, watching the two walk off.
“Because it’s Duo’s friend and any friend of Duo’s is probably mentally insane. Present company excluded, of course,” Heero said, nodding solemnly at Wufei and Trowa.
“Of course,” Trowa echoed dryly. “Let’s just go and supervise Duo’s bag of gifts. I don’t want him to give his ‘friend’ something dangerous.”
“Knowing Duo, I bet there are explosives in that penguin.” Wufei looked up at the heavens, smirking.
“Fifty bucks says handcuffs,” Heero added.
“Seventy says the friend loves it,” Trowa said, chuckling.

“Hey, Sharon! You won’t believe what I’ve just been through. Wait till you see what I got for you!” Duo grinned at his friend and handed her a black bag with the penguin plushie. She took it and quickly sifted through.
“Ooh, more porn and a penguin? Thank you, Duo! You are too good to me.”
