I've signed up for the Tour De Cure bike ride to raise money for the American Diabetes Society. I'll be doing the 50k (~33 mile) ride. I've been training, and have a month left to go before I get up ungodly early in the morning and pedal my legs off. The hope, of course, is that by then, it won't be quite so much with the legs falling off.
I am, of course, looking for donors to support the ride. I've been living with diabetes for over 12 years now, and have had more success than many. Taking up bike riding has been a big part of getting control of my blood sugar and losing weight. During that same 12 years, I've lost several friends to diabetic complications and as a result of untreated and/or undiagnosed diabetes. It's a growing problem, both as an increasingly common diagnosis and as a personal issue for many people.
So I'm asking for your help. The easiest way is to go to my
personal fund raising page for the Tour and donate there. I'll appreciate it, and so will the millions of others living with diabetes today.
