Today is my first day of furlough. I rented a carpet cleaning machine and started spring cleaning. I had hoped that I could get my Great Uncle Joe's old sofa clean but that sadly isn't how it turned out. It is this great pale yellow tufted "cigarette sofa". It is at least 50 years old and has been through a two households before mine so I can't be too surprised. Even if I got it clean it needed new cushions and new springs. Anyway, I guess I'll have to replace it eventually.
Tomorrow will be more cleaning. Hopefully it will be warm again tomorrow so I can do the windows and get the yard in shape.
I just started
The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure. So far it is pretty good. The owner of the local bookstore recommended it. She makes great recommendations. :-)
Gypsy and I are watching "
The Boys From Brazil". I love the moral complexity of this film.
