Betsy and I are doing a Reader Challenge from
ClothPaperScissors. It has a "Day of the Dead" theme and I immediately wanted to make my skull out of shells. I've been digging the variation of the shell interiors of late. LOL
This is my skull so far. I need to make a background to finish out the 6 x 6 inch square. I dig it but now I am having doubts about it being "Day of the Dead" enough. I was going to put it in a still life sort of scene with a lace veil over the back. We'll see.
The insulation inspector form the city is coming on Monday so this week end is all about knocking out the last of that. I also have to get the new windows in so we can be ready for the sheet rocker. I'm waiting for them to call me back - I'm hoping to get the sheet rocking to be scheduled for late next week.
The electrical inspector called me back yesterday with good news - no need for a permit or inspection to install that channel wiring on the second floor rather. Eventually, we'll open up the walls, insulate and put the outlets in. Then we'll need a permit and inspections but now it is a quick job to finish up. ;-)
We saw Suzanne Vega last night. It was a fun show even though she never sang "the greener side" (which, it turns out, was Michelle Shocked). :-)
OK, I better get back to work. Lunch is over!
