3 Doors Down show
I rode over with Mikey from Dropp'n Trou, and a guy that use to dj for CPR. We got there around 6. Hung for a bit on the bus, then made our way inside. It was the typical 'meet and greet' back stage...Dj's, fans, autographs, interviews, pictures....and that was just me...
From there we went to the dressing room..it was just us so it was pretty cool. Sitting around smoking, and talking about music..the way it should be!
After a bit we walked down to catering, and grabbed a bite to eat. Grilled beef tips, shrimp creole, and some pasta thing...not bad.
At this point ShineDown was on stage, I cought their last song....then back in the dressing room. When Tantric went on, Todd and I walked out to watch from stage right. Good set. I left after they did that Fleetwood Mac tune.
Back to the dressing room.
Todd has his Bass on and is dancing around playing Duck and Run? (their opening song) I ask him if he still gets anxious before he plays he says...."Yeah Man, no matter how many times I've done this..it always feels the same!"
A head pokes in the door..."7 minutes" it's Matt their production manager (and 12stones tour manager)
Paul and Greg from 12stones show up. We talk about their studio work, and about Change to Eden going in to the studio (tomorrow).
"3 minutes"
They file out and go wait at the back of the stage for the intro music, I go stand at stage right and wait.
The lights go out...the place goes nuts! At some point Dave and Terra Knorr, along with Jeremy Champaign from Fatetrane show up. A treat to see them.
At the drum solo I join Special K right up front...and I do mean RIGHT up front! We were behind the barracade so I was literally resting my arm on the stage!
I spent most of the time watching the crowd...man it makes the musician in me burn! All I want to do is play.
*nothing to do with the story* Woah! 'Pretty Baby' is on with Brook Shields, I've never seen it before...she is completely naked! And completely 12 years old...holy shit! This had to raise all kinds of hell!
Apparently Brad's voice was shot by the end...they finished a song..he threw the mic *BLAM*...went off the stage for a looong time...and came out and did 'Loser'. Called it after that. I think they cut 4 songs. They said they almost got the singer from Tantric to come out and sing finish the set.
After the show it was just about what you'd expect..without the naked chics (more of a family affair) Lots of beer...laughter...music talk...great time.
I ran out to the tour bus to get Jen's (Todds wife) purse and it was pouring rain..I got soaked! Before we left Todd took me out to the bus and gave me a dry shirt and dry socks. LOL! I just thought it was funny...he not only is will to give the shirt off his back..but socks too! What a guy!
Made it home.
